Darwin Glass

Darwinite is found only in Tasmania, Australia where a meteorite impacted the Earth nearly 800,000 years ago.

The darker varieties of this tektite are said to contain more meteorite material than the lighter, more transparent pieces. In comparison to Moldavite, Darwin Glass contains less silica and more magnesium and iron, making it darker in color and less translucent.
